Swatch & review: OPI California Dreaming Collection SS17

Even though OPI’s AW collection is just right around the corner, I can’t help to share the swatches för OPI’s SS collection. It’s just too pretty and right up my alley.

The collection consists of 12 shades and as you can see from the collage above – it’s pretty much 50 shades of pink. And why don’t I mind? Because I love love love wearing pink on my nails. The collection has 8 cremes, 2 crellies and 2 metallics.

OPI California Dreaming Feeling Frisco

First up is Feeling Frisco. It’s a pretty vanilla/light nudeish shade but the formula is a bit hard to work with. However it does even out with top coat so it is definitely wearable.

OPI California Dreaming Barking Up the Wrong Sequoia

Barking Up the Wrong Sequoia is a peachy pink creme polish. The formula was fine. Two coats for full coverage.

OPI California Dreaming Excuse Me, Big Sur!

Next up is one of my faves of the collection – Excuse Me, Big Sur! I really like how the pink is a bit toned down and it looks very pretty on the nails as well. The formula is very nice and opaque in two coats.

OPI California Dreaming Time For a Napa

Time for the signature shade of the collection – Time For a Napa! TFaN is a light coral. Or it is pink? You decide. Gorgeous polish none the less! Two coats for full coverage

OPI California Dreaming Malibu Pier Pressure

Malibu Pier Pressure is a gorgeous bubblegum pink. So flattering on the nice and great formula!

OPI California Dreaming GPS I Love You

GPS I Love You is a bright pink shade. The formula is a bit thin but applies beautifully. Love it!

OPI California Dreaming This is Not Whine Country

I looove This is Not Whine Country! I had really high hopes for this shade but it wasn’t quite what I expected. I didn’t expect this shade to be a crelly so at first I was disappointed by the thin formula. But somehow it is still high in pigment so you get full coverage in two coats and an incredibly shine. I mean just look! 5/5 in my books.

OPI California Dreaming To the Mouse House We Go!

Let’s have a look at the second crelly of the collection – To the Mouse House We Go! The formula is the same as This is Not Whine Country. I am blinded by the shine. Wow. Love it!

OPI California Dreaming Santa Monica Beach Peach

Santa Monica Beach Peach is a bright orange shade. I usually don’t wear orange shades but this one is amazing! Two coats for full coverage.

OPI California Dreaming Me, Myselfie & I

Me, Myselfie & I is a beautiful coral shade. Almost a  one coater. Applies oh so smooth!

OPI California Dreaming Sweet Carmel Sunday

Sweet Carmel Sunday is a warm toned metallic polish. I would say it’s almost rose gold. It’s a pretty shade but it didn’t go that well with my skin tone. It’s a little streaky but not too bad! Two coats for full coverage.

OPI California Dreaming Don’t Take Yosemite For Granite

Don’t Take Yosemite For Granite is probably the most unique shade of the collection. It’s pretty and actually applies nicely for a metallic shade. It is hardly streaky at all. I don’t see myself reaching for this shade mid summer but I probably will for fall!

I hope you enjoyed the swatches!

Swatch and review: Zoya Wanderlust Collection SS17

19 juli 2017 av Ellinor Engström
Nails, Press Releases, Reviews

The Zoya Wanderlust Collection was release mid May 2017 and consists of eight creme polishes and four metallics.

The majority of the shades are on the orange, pink and red side of the color scale but there are some unique picks in here as well like the olive green!

Honestly, almost all of the shades have a perfect formula. Two coats. No hazel. The only one I struggled a bit with was Scout.

Since I love my pinks and reds, this is definitely a collection in my taste! And I mean, just look at the shine?! To be honest, I will probably not be reached for Scout or Arbor.

Do you guys have a favorite among the shades? Let me know in the comments! Otherwise, just keep scrolling and you’ll get closeups of the entire collection.

Ciaté London Gelology SS17

24 juni 2017 av Ellinor Engström
Nails, Press Releases, Reviews

Ciaté London has released four new shades in their Gelology formula. The formula is heavily pigmented and gives you a ultra shiny nail and added volume. Your manicure can also last up to ten days.

From left to right: Goal Digger, Moondust, Supernova, The Naked Truth

All of the shades in the Gelology series are 7 free which means that the formula doesn’t contain the seven most poisonous substances that many traditional nail polish brands use.

The Gelology series can now be bought in the Swedish pharmacy Apotek Hjärtat.

I think we can all agree that the shades look absolutely stunning in the bottles, but let’s head on over to the swatches.

Ciaté London Gelology Supernova

First up is the shades ”Supernova”. This is the most sheer out of the shades in this collection. But I don’t mind. I love this polish and I think it is very fitting considering the current mermaid/unicorn trend. You do need three coats for full coverage but just look how amazing the result is. Totally worth it.

Ciaté London Gelology The Naked Truth

Next up is the shade called ”The Naked Truth”. This is the only creme polish in the collection. I am a sucker for pinkish nudes so I am not really surprised that I loved this shade as well. I loved the formula and you need two easy coats for full coverage.

Ciaté London Gelology The Naked Truth

Ciaté London Gelology Goal Digger

Goal Digger is a cool toned metallic bronze. This is also a pretty color with good pigmentation. Since it’s a metallic shade it is a little bit streaky but it still does look pretty on the nail. I like it but metallics are usually not my cup of tea.

Ciaté London Gelology Goal Digger

Ciaté London Gelology Moondust

Last but not least it ”Moondust” (I almost accidentally wrote Moonshine… lol). This is a purple shimmer/glitter polish. I love that it is so jam packed with glitter and shimmer but that it doesn’t apply streaky. As you can see from both the bottle picture and swatch there is a lot of golden shimmer. I think this shade is gorgeous. Not my go to shade but very stunning and unique.

Ciaté London Gelology Moondust

Since I never wear the same polish more than five days in a row, I haven’t tried how the polish wears. I do have a little bit of trouble with the top coat and I easily get air bubbles when I apply it. But I haven’t heard or read anywhere else that this is a problem, so I am beginning to think that I might just have gotten a bad bottle.

Overall, I think this is a lovely collection for the summer with some very unique and pretty shades.
